Abstract<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\nThough not systematically explored and studied in Mary Shelley\u2019s days, research supervision happens to be, according to new developments in the research pedagogy, a key factor in the successful completion of a research project and, above all, in the quality of research findings. Using Reader-response criticism as the theoretical approach, this paper attempts to reveal the main cause of the failure of Victor Frankenstein’s research project <\/span>by studying the pedagogy of research supervision at the University of Ingolstadt as portrayed by the English writer, Mary Shelley, in her novel <\/span>Frankenstein. The analysis shows that most of the supervisory activities in the novel are in line with recent developments in the field of research <\/span>supervision. However, it can be postulated that the lack of feedback between Victor Frankenstein and his research supervisor at some crucial moments of the research journey has led to unwanted results.<\/span>

\nBien qu’il n’ait pas \u00e9t\u00e9 syst\u00e9matiquement explor\u00e9 et \u00e9tudi\u00e9 \u00e0 l’\u00e9poque de Mary Shelley, l\u2019encadrement de la recherche s’av\u00e8re \u00eatre, selon les nouveaux d\u00e9veloppements de la p\u00e9dagogie de la recherche, un facteur-cl\u00e9 de la r\u00e9ussite d’un projet de recherche et, surtout, de la qualit\u00e9 des r\u00e9sultats <\/span>de la recherche. En utilisant la th\u00e9orie de la r\u00e9ception comme cadre th\u00e9orique, cet article tente de r\u00e9v\u00e9ler la cause principale de l’\u00e9chec du projet <\/span>de recherche de Victor Frankenstein, en \u00e9tudiant la p\u00e9dagogie de l\u2019encadrement de la recherche \u00e0 l’Universit\u00e9 d’Ingolstadt telle que d\u00e9crite par l’\u00e9crivaine anglaise Mary Shelley dans son roman Frankenstein. L’analyse montre que la plupart des activit\u00e9s d’encadrement dans le roman <\/span>sont conformes aux d\u00e9veloppements r\u00e9cents dans le domaine de l’encadrement de la recherche. Toutefois, on peut penser que l’absence de r\u00e9tro-information entre Victor Frankenstein et son directeur de recherche, \u00e0 certains moments cruciaux du parcours de recherche, a conduit \u00e0 des<\/span>r\u00e9sultats non d\u00e9sir\u00e9s.<\/span><\/p>\n
