Elle est une figure centrale de sa production litt\u00e9raire si ce n\u2019est la figure charni\u00e8re, charriant un symbolisme pluriel r\u00e9v\u00e9lateur d\u2019un imaginaire f\u00e9cond et d\u2019une pens\u00e9e en perp\u00e9tuel questionnement. Dans ce sens, outre cette repr\u00e9sentation d\u2019une identit\u00e9 ombilicale, les figures de la terre s\u2019incrustent dans cette contradiction polaire garante de l\u2019\u00e9quilibre du monde. Si la terre m\u00e9diterran\u00e9enne est m\u00e8re d\u2019abord c\u2019est parce que, simplement, elle participe d\u2019un ancrage sociologique et d\u2019un sentiment d\u2019appartenance nourri d\u2019un \u00e9crivain \u00e0 son Alg\u00e9rie natale, terre de la mer et du d\u00e9sert, deux expressions de l\u2019infini dans leur constante ambivalence. A cet endroit, o\u00f9 la pl\u00e9nitude et l\u2019extase confirment l\u2019id\u00e9e d\u2019un Eden retrouv\u00e9, le mal est aussi pr\u00e9sent. In the work of Albert Camus, a true myth of the land is constructed and established. It is a central figure in his literary production, if not the pivotal figure, carrying a plural symbolism revealing a fertile imagination and a thought in perpetual questioning. In this sense, in addition to this representation of an umbilical identity, the figures of land are embedded in this polar contradiction that guarantees the balance of the world. If the Mediterranean land is first and foremost a mother, it is because it simply participates in a sociological anchorage and a feeling of belonging nourished by a writer to his native Algeria, a land of the sea and of the desert, two expressions of the infinite in their constant contradiction.From this place, where wholeness and ecstasy confirm the idea of a rediscovered Eden, evil is also present.
