Abstract<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\nThis paper offers a posthuman reading of human\u2013technology interaction in R. Bradbury\u2019s The Veldt (1950). Grounded in posthuman theory, it interrogates how automated environments reframe family dynamics, family well-being, and the ways family members interact, especially under the weight of the algorithm\u2019s dictatorship and overreliance on artificial intelligence. In The Veldt (1950), the automated home, designed to provide the Hadley family with extreme comfort and safety, destabilized parental authority and redefined the normative boundaries of care. This paper emphasizes the dangers of detaching from reality and human experience in favor of artificial and escapist realms. It also underscores the value of maintaining a balance between technology and humanity, reminding us of the perils of becoming too reliant on virtual realities at the expense of genuine human connection. The paper asserts that we should engineer digitalization and design choices in intelligent spaces to ensure they never replace human presence and control.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nCet article, sous-tendu par la perspective th\u00e9orique posthumaniste, propose une lecture de l’interaction homme-technologie dans The Veldt (1950) de Ray Bradbury. Il explore la mani\u00e8re dont les environnements domestiques automatis\u00e9s red\u00e9finissent les dynamiques familiales ; le bien-\u00eatre familial, les r\u00f4les familiaux, et surtout comment les membres de la famille interagissent, sous le poids de la dictature des algorithmes et de la d\u00e9pendance excessive \u00e0 l’intelligence artificielle. Dans The Veldt (1950), la maison automatis\u00e9e con\u00e7ue pour offrir \u00e0 la famille Hadley un confort et une s\u00e9curit\u00e9 extr\u00eames a fini par red\u00e9finir les r\u00f4les au sein de la famille et d\u00e9stabiliser l’autorit\u00e9 parentale. Cet article met en \u00e9vidence les dangers qu\u2019il y a \u00e0 prioriser la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 virtuelle et \u00e0 s\u2019y attacher excessivement, au d\u00e9triment des rapports humains r\u00e9els. Aussi souligne-t-il l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat qu\u2019il y a \u00e0 maintenir un \u00e9quilibre entre le digital et l\u2019humain. Il rappelle \u00e0 cet \u00e9gard les dangers li\u00e9s \u00e0 la d\u00e9pendance excessive \u00e0 l\u2019intelligence artificielle et aux r\u00e9alit\u00e9s virtuelles, nocives \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9closion et au d\u00e9veloppement de r\u00e9elles connexions humaines. L\u2019article soutient qu\u2019il devient urgent que les choix de conception des espaces intelligents soient faits de sorte \u00e0 garantir la pr\u00e9\u00e9minence et la pr\u00e9dominance de l\u2019humain et de son contr\u00f4le sur le digital.<\/span><\/p>\n
