Ainsi, dans ce sens, le roman, dans sa pr\u00e9sentation classique, se d\u00e9construit et interroge sa possibilit\u00e9 et sa pertinence \u00e0 travers l\u2019expression d\u2019une crise du langage et d\u2019une indiff\u00e9rence narratologique assum\u00e9e. Et, dans ce sens, l\u2019innovation litt\u00e9raire r\u00e9cuse les fondamentaux du roman traditionnel en l\u2019occurrence la toute-puissance du personnage h\u00e9ros et la toute science de la narration pour consacrer comme dogme du renouveau la mort du h\u00e9ros et le refus de l\u2019omniscience narrative. C\u2019est sur ce terreau f\u00e9cond de remise en question et de d\u00e9construction que le Nouveau roman b\u00e2tira ses lettres de noblesse. Et dans ce sens, beaucoup de critiques ont pu voir en Albert Camus et Jean Paul Sartre des pr\u00e9curseurs du Nouveau roman, ne serait-ce que dans leur volont\u00e9 de poser les jalons d\u2019une nouvelle approche romanesque. Le roman existentialiste demeure un tampon essentiel entre les formes traditionnelles et modernes du roman, voire postmodernes.<br \/>\nMots-cl\u00e9s : existentialisme, h\u00e9ros, narration, omniscience, personnage.<br \/>\nAbstract<br \/>\nThe twentieth century subjects literature to a radical interrogation,<br \/>\nchallenging both its mimetic bond to the real and the very architecture of its forms. Thus the classical novel, in its time-honored guise, begins to unravel, questioning its own viability and legitimacy amid a pervasive crisis of language and a deliberate narratological detachment. Literary innovation, in turn, repudiates the cardinal tenets of the traditional novel\u2014the sovereign centrality of the heroic protagonist and the godlike omniscience of the narrator\u2014erecting instead the twin pillars of renewal: the death of the hero and the categorical rejection of narrative omniscience. It is on this rich, unsettled soil of doubt and dismantling that the Nouveau Roman erects its austere yet enduring edifice. Many critics, accordingly, have discerned in Albert Camus and Jean-Paul Sartre the harbingers of this new dispensation, if only for their pioneering efforts to sketch the contours of an alternative novelistic vision.
