Résumé
La présente étude met en lumière la variation de sens liée au changement de ton sur le morphème lexical /yɔ/ en hwegbe. Le repérage de cette variation dans différents contextes connote le pouvoir polysémique de ce lexique qui est un élément caractéristique de ce dialecte. L’étude s’inscrit dans la perspective polysémique de Catherine Paulin et Henri Béjoint et permet de mieux cerner la problématique polysémique qui s’instaure entre les locuteurs de ce parler. L’étude s’appuie dans sa démonstration sur la théorie polysémique pour montrer les circonstances dans lesquelles la polysémie pose un problème sémantique en hwegbe.

Abstract
The present study sheds light on the variation of meaning linked to the change of tone on the lexical morpheme /yɔ/ in hwegbe. The identification of this variation in different contexts connotes the polysemic power of this lexicon which is a characteristic element of this dialect. The study falls within the polysemous perspective of Catherine Paulin and Henri Béjoint and permits a better understanding of the polysemous problem that arises between the speakers of this variant. The study leans in its demonstration of polysemous theory to show the circumstances in which polysemy constitutees a semantic problem in hwegbe.
